DIVISION II LIMESTONE DOWNS GUILFORD, 17-5
Gaffney, SC (3/04/99) -- Freshmen Becky Buppert (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) and Angie Meyer (Hanover, MD/North County) each scored four times to lead Division II Limestone past visiting Guilford, 17-5, Thursday afternoon.
The Saints (2-0) took a 7-4 lead into halftime, but netted 10 of the game's final 11 goals to cruise to victory.
Senior Nel Andrews (Burlington, VT/Northfield-Mt. Hermon (MA)) paced Guilford's (1-2) offense with two goals. Junior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School) scored a goal and an assist. Limestone limited Guilford's leading scorer, senior Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garrison Forest) to one assist after she tallied a team-best nine goals and two assists in the Quakers' first two contests.
Following a 10-day layoff due to spring break, the Quakers make their second stop on their four-game road trip with a March 14 contest at Division I Howard University.
