GUILFORD TOPS GREENSBORO IN CROSSTOWN WOMEN'S LACROSSE ACTION
Greensboro, NC (3/01/99) -- Senior attack Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover School) scored the first three goals of the game on the way to a career-high six tallies to lead Guilford over visiting Greensboro, 14-3, Monday afternoon.
The Quakers (1-1) netted the game's first five goals, before sophomore attack Chrissy Taggart (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) put the Pride (0-1) on the board 19:47 into the first half. Senior Nel Andrews (Burlington, VT/Northfield-Mt. Hermon) scored her first two goals of the year during a 4-1 Guilford run to close out the half.
Guilford sophomore Kate Allen (Cumberland, RI/Lincoln School) opened the second period with back-to-back goals and senior Tina Schroeter (Reisterstown, MD/Garrison Forest) netted her seconfd goal of the game to boost the hosts lead to 12-2 with 28:43 remaining.
The win marked Guilford's fourth straight victory over the Pride in five overall meetings. The two rivals meet again April 6 at Greensboro.
