GUILFORD’S JANKOWSKI NAMED ODAC LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Greensboro, NC (4/15/99) -- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selected Guilford College junior Jenn Jankowski (Bethlehem, CT/Westover) as its lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 11. She is Guilford’s first lacrosse player of the week this season and a first-time recipient of the honor.

In the past week, Jankowski helped the Quakers to a 2-1 record by scoring nine goals and four assists. In a 9-5 win over Greensboro, she scored a game-high five goals and added an assist. In the Quakers 11-4 ODAC win over Bridgewater April 9, she had two goals and one assist. She led all Guilford scorers with two goals and two assists against Washington & Lee April 11.

Jankowski leads Guilford with 57 points and 46 goals this season, both career-high totals. Her 57 points mark the third-highest single-season total in school history. She has six games with four or more goals and has led Guilford’s scorers nine times. Jankowski stands sixth on Guilford’s career scoring board with 100 points and is fifth in career goals with 86.

Coach Ken Glardon’s team has an 8-7 overall record, 4-3 in the ODAC. The Quakers next game is home, against Randolph-Macon, on April 17.
