GUILFORD FALLS TO LYNCHBURG 19-5 IN FINAL HOME GAME
Greensboro, NC (04/17/01) -- Sophomore attack Lindsay Caruso (Darien, CT/Darien) scored six goals and an assist to power visiting Lynchburg past Guilford, 19-5, in the Quakers' final home game of the season Tuesday. The Hornets improve to 8-6, 5-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), while Guilford falls to 3-12, 1-7 ODAC.
Caruso tallied five goals in the first half as the Hornets built a commanding 15-2 halftime lead.
Seven different players found the back of the net for Lynchburg, including senior attack Laurie Ward (Ellicott City, MD/Mount de Sales Academy), who netted five goals for the Hornets.
Freshman attack Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) matched her career high with five goals to raise her total to a team-leading 34 tallies, which is also a Guilford freshman scoring record. Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Goodwin (Newburyport, MA/Newburyport) made 10 saves in the loss.
The Quakers close the season on Friday, April 20, at Division II Pfeiffer at 4:00 PM.
