GUILFORD DROPS ODAC WOMEN'S LACROSSE GAME TO BRIDGEWATER, 19-7
Greensboro, NC (04/07/01) -- Senior midfielder Kate Blaney (Churchville, MD/John Carroll) scored six goals and junior midfielder Liz Pietrzyk (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) added five as visiting Bridgewater downed Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Guilford, 19-7, Saturday afternoon. The Eagles jump to 6-2, 4-1 in the ODAC, while the Quakers fall to 2-10, 0-5 in the ODAC.
The Quakers pulled to within 4-3 when junior midfielder Melissa Urann (Plymouth, MA/Falmouth Academy) scored just over 13 minutes into the first half. Pietrzyk scored her first goal less than a minute later and triggered an 8-0 Eagles' run, during which time she scored four times. Freshman attack Nell Bodani (Stevensville, MD/Kent-Island) tallied two of her four scores during the spurt and helped the Eagles to a 14-4 halftime lead.
Freshman attack Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) led the Quakers' scoring effort with four goals, matching her career high.
The Quakers visit league rival Hollins Wednesday, April 11 at 4:30 PM.
