GUILFORD FALLS TO NEW ENGLAND, 13-5, IN WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Greensboro, NC (03/18/01) -- New England College opened its women's lacrosse season with a 13-5 victory over Guilford Sunday afternoon at Haworth Field. With their third straight defeat, the Quakers fall to 1-6 this season.

Senior attack Jamie Jackman (New London, NH) led the Bishops to victory, scoring five goals and an assist. Classmate Rachel McKee (New London, NH) scored two of her three goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, helping the Bishops open an 8-0 advantage. Freshman goaltender Faith Harris (Litchfield, ME) made 12 saves, picking up the win for the Bishops.

The Quakers got on the board when senior attack Kate Allen (Cumberland, RI/Lincoln School) scored her first of two goals on a pass from freshman attack Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) with almost five minutes remaining in the first half. Freshman goaltender Lauren Goodwin (Newburyport, MA/Newburyport) matched a career-high with 10 saves in the loss.

The Quakers host Christopher Newport Saturday, March 24 at 3:30.
