GUILFORD LOSES TO RANDOLPH-MACON, 15-2, IN WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Greensboro, NC (03/17/01) -- Guilford lost to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Randolph-Macon Saturday afternoon at Haworth Field, 15-2. The Quakers fall to 1-5 (0-3 ODAC) with the loss, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 3-2 (3-1 ODAC).
Junior midfielder Erin Riedy (Ellicott City, MD/McDonogh) scored four of her team's first six goals as Randolph-Macon jumped out to a commanding 9-0 halftime lead. Sophomore Mandy Dougherty (Lutherville, MD/Garrison Forest) racked up three of her game-high four assists in the opening period.
Dougherty led all scorers with a goal and four assists. Reidy finished with a game-high four goals while junior Angela Bisland (Annapolis, MD/St. Mary's) and Lisa Weitzel (Landenberg, PA/Notre Dame Prep (MD)) each scored twice
Freshman Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) and sophomore Katie Rice (Worton, MD/Kent County) scored for the Quakers. Freshman goaltender Lauren Goodwin (Newburyport, MA/Newburyport) made a career-high 10 saves in the net for the Quakers.
Guilford hosts New England College Sunday, March 18, at noon.
