Greensboro, NC (03/08/01) -- Junior attack Becky Buppert (Westminster, MD/South Carroll) scored four goals and three assists as Division II Limestone defeated host Guilford Thursday, 16-2. The Saints (1-1) are ranked seventh in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II national poll and have won all five lacrosse meetings with Guilford, dating back to 1997.

Buppert had three goals and two assists by halftime as the Saints led 11-0 at intermission and scored the game's first 12 goals. She scored her first goal less than two minutes into the contest off an Angie Meyer (Hanover, MD/North County) assist. Meyer netted the first of her three goals off a Buppert feed less than four minutes later.

Sophomore Meghan Dennehy (Gambrills, MD/Arundel) opened the second-half scoring with her third and final goal of the day to give Limestone a 12-0 edge with 19:48 to play. Guilford junior midfielder Melissa Urann (Plymouth, MA/Falmouth Academy) broke up the shutout with 17:39 remaining on a free-position goal. The Saints reeled off three more scores before sophomore Sara Walters-Bugbee (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) scored in transition off an assist by freshman Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, SC/Hyde School (CT)) with 6:30 left in the game.

Guilford (0-2) hosts Ohio Wesleyan this Sunday morning (3/11) at 10:00 A.M. Limestone opens its home season Saturday, March 10, against Stonehill.
