GUILFORD WOMEN’S LACROSSE TEAM DROPS SEASON OPENER, 14-7

Norfolk, VA (03/03/01) – Freshman Anne Marie Nash (Norfolk, VA/Norfolk Academy) led host Virginia Wesleyan to a 14-7 women's lacrosse win in the season- and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opener for both teams.

Guilford (0-1) jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but the Marlins rallied to grab a 9-5 halftime advantage. Virginia Wesleyan outscored Guilford, 5-2, in the second half.

Freshman attack Kathryn Ragin (Pawleys Island, NC/Hyde School (CT)) led the Quakers in scoring with four goals in her first collegiate appearance. Junior attack Keli Donnelly (Lafayette Hill, PA/Plymouth-Whitemarsh) added two goals of the season.

The Quakers come home on March 8th for their home opener against Limestone at 4:00 P.M. at Haworth Field.
