GUILFORD’S MEN’S SOCCER TEAM DROPS HOME OPENER
Greensboro, NC (9/9/98) — The Guilford College men’s soccer team dropped its home opener to Averett College Wednesday afternoon, 2-0.
The first goal of the game came with one and a half minutes left in the first half. Averett (2-2) sophomore Jon Ramprasad scored unassisted from 30 yards back on a well-placed shot in the far top corner of the goal just past the leaping Scott Quick. With four and a half minutes remaining in the game freshman Jeff Yu scored the second goal for Averett from about 15 yards back, following a shot initially blocked by Quick.
The Quakers try to improve their 0-2 record next Wednesday when they face Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Emory & Henry on Haworth Field at 4:00.
