GUILFORD FALLS TO NINTH-RANKED VIRGINIA WESLEYAN, 3-1

Greensboro, NC — Virginia Wesleyan beat the Guilford, 3-1, in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer match on Sunday. The Marlins were ranked ninth in this week's NSCAA NCAA Division III national men's soccer poll.

Three Marlins scored for the victorious visitors as they outshot their hosts, 22-6. Senior forward Owen Finberg (Margaretville, NY/Margaretville) scored the Quakers goal to give him five this season.

Freshman goalie Adrian Sperka (Tryon, NC/Polk County) picked up eight saves in defeat for the Quakers.
