QUAKERS WIN 4-3 IN OVERTIME

Murfreesboro, NC — Freshman midfielder Ray King (Trenton, NJ/Pennington School) scored two goals for Guilford, including the game winner in overtime, to give the Quakers a 4-3 win over Chowan. The victory brought an end to the Quakers' nine-game losing streak.  The game-winning goal came off of a penalty kick tallied by King just after a minute into overtime.   Freshman Victor Cardenas (Charlotte, NC/Independence) also picked up his first career goal for the Quakers in the 38th minute. Freshman goalie Adrian Sperka (Tryon, NC/Polk County) picked up nine saves in his first collegiate start for the Quakers.

The Quakers play at home this weekend (October 17th and 18th) in two conference games against Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan.
