N.C. WESLEYAN HANDS GUILFORD A 3-1 LOSS

Greensboro, NC (10-7-98) — North Carolina Wesleyan handed host Guilford its eighth straight loss Wednesday, 3-1. Three different Battling Bishops found the back of the net in their fifth victory of the season. N.C. Wesleyan is ranked eighth in this week's NSCAA Division III South Region poll.

The Quakers' goal came on a penalty kick by freshman midfielder Ray King (Trenton, NJ/Pennington School) giving him a team-high five tallies on the year.

Freshman goalie Adrian Sperka (Tryon, N.C./Polk County) played the final 27 minutes for injured senior Scott Quick (Cordova, TN/Germantown) and recorded the first six saves of his career.
