FERGUSSON RALLIES GUILFORD TO MEN'S SOCCER WIN

Laurinburg, NC (09-20-00)  — Junior Russell Fergusson (Charlotte, NC/Northwest) scored his first career goal in the 85th minute to lift visiting Guilford past Division II St. Andrews Wednesday afternoon in men's soccer action. Fergusson hit a 30-yard blast that crossed by Knights' goaltender Kevin Pych into the top corner of the goal.

Rookie forward Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville) rallied the Quakers from an early 1-0 deficit with a pair of first-half tallies, his team-leading fourth and fifth goals of the year. Rookie midfielder Brett Ralls (High Point, NC/Ledford) recorded his first collegiate point with an assist on Imafidon's first goal. St. Andrews tied the game at 2-2 in the 73rd minute on a Jess Dixon score off an assist from Sean Jurecic.

Fergusson's goal gave the Quakers their second late win in the past three games. Junior midfielder Noam Sorek (Atlit, Israel/Ort Hiriak Bialik) scored with 43 seconds remaining in regulation in last week's 3-2 win at Ferrum.
