LEVY LIFTS GUILFORD TO MEN'S SOCCER WIN IN OVERTIME

Greensboro, NC (10/01/00) — Junior defender Damian Levy (East Windsor, NJ/Peddie School) scored the winning goal 10:04 into overtime as Guilford surprised regionally ranked Savannah College of Art & Design, 3-2, Sunday afternoon. The Bees (7-2) entered the game ranked ninth in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III South Region poll.

Freshman Nate Bynum (Apex, NC/Apex) served a ball into the Savannah A&D box where it was flicked on by junior Noam Sorek (Atlit, Israel/Ort Hiriat Bialik). Levy headed Sorek's feed in from about six yards out for the winning score.

The Bees rallied from a 2-0 deficit when junior forward John Attridge (Lowestoft, England) scored back-to-back goals in the game's final two minutes. Attridge's first goal came with 2:06 to play on a penalty kick and he got loose on a breakaway just over a minute later and scored off an assist from sophomore Rodrigo Sanchez Vial (Mexico City, Mexico) with 1:02 remaining.

The Quakers (6-4-1) jumped out to the two-goal advantage on goals by Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/ Wake Forest-Rolesville) and freshman Zac Snyder (Mooresville, NC/South Iredell). Snyder put the Quakers on the board when he converted a Steve Harrsion (Virginia Beach,VA/Kempsville) corner kick late in the first half. Imafidon headed in his ninth tally of the season in the 69th minute off a free kick by rookie midfielder Brett Ralls (High Point, NC/Ledford).
