IMAFIDON TALLIES TWICE IN GUILFORD SOCCER WIN OVER BRIDGEWATER
Harrisonburg, VA (09/25/00) Visiting Guilford scored four unanswered goals in the second half to claim a 5-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer win over Bridgewater Sunday. The win salvaged a split of a two-game trip to northern Virginia after Guilford (5-3-1, 2-2 ODAC) lost at Eastern Mennonite, 1-0, Saturday.
Rookie forward Tim Imafidon (Raleigh, NC/Wake Forest-Rolesville) tallied twice in the win and gave the guests a 1-0 lead with an unassisted first-half goal. The Eagles (2-5, 0-3 ODAC) tied the game six minutes later on an Eric Mauck score.
Rookie midfielder Brett Ralls (High Point, NC/Ledford) scored the game-winning goal 2:45 into the second half of an assist by sophomore Steve Harrison (Virginia Beach, VA/Kempsville). The tally marked Ralls' first collegiate score. Classmates Zac Snyder (Mooresville, NC/South Iredell) and Spencer Tisdale (Greensboro, NC/Dudley) also recorded their first collegiate goals in the win.
Guilford freshman goaltender Pete Ferrante (Wilmington, DE/St. Mark's School) made his collegiate debut with nine saves in 72 minutes.
