KING LIFTS QUAKERS TO FOURTH STRAIGHT MEN'S SOCCER WIN

Greensboro, NC (9/25/99) — Sophomore forward Ray King (Trenton, NJ/Pennington School) scored in the 93rd minute to lift Guilford's men’s soccer team to a 1-0 overtime win over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Eastern Mennonite Saturday afternoon.

The win broke Guilford's seven-game winless streak (0-6-1) against Eastern Mennonite and gives the Quakers (4-2, 3-0 ODAC) their first four-game winning skein since 1991. Guilford last defeated Eastern Mennonite in 1989. The defending ODAC champion Royals fall to 2-5 overall, 0-2 in the ODAC.

Freshman goalie John Watson (New Bern, NC/New Bern) recorded his second career shutout with two saves while junior Jonathan Kratz (Mt. Joy, PA/Lancaster Mennonite) made four stops for the Royals.
