JUDKSI, KOSIBA NAMED ASSISTANT BASKETBALL COACHES AT GUILFORD
Greensboro, NC (08/30/99) -- Guilford College Director of Athletics Mike Ketchum announced the appointment of Brian Judski as assistant men's basketball coach and former Guilford basketball player Chris Kosiba as assistant women's basketball coach Monday.
Judski joins first-year head coach Butch Estes' staff and comes to Guilford after two years as the administrative assistant coach for Furman University's men's basketball team. He worked alongside Paladins' head coach Larry Davis with special emphasis on scouting, game preparation and team and individual workouts. The Binghamton, NY, native coached the Greenville County (SC) 17-under AAU boys' team for the past year and served as the Assistant Director of Estes' Rising Stars Basketball Academy. Judski graduated from Clemson in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Kosiba returns to Guilford after earning his master's degree in physical education with a concentration in sports psychology from Western Illinois University last May. He replaces Calvin Hunter on head coach Barb Bausch's staff after Hunter accepted a teaching position at Rockingham Community College earlier this summer. While at Western Illinois, Kosiba served two years as a graduate assistant with the women's basketball team and as an athletic academic advisor. He also gained coaching experience at the University of Notre Dame and John Thompson Basketball Camps.
A native of Tampa, FL, Kosiba lettered four seasons with Jack Jensen's men's basketball team at Guilford and earned the reputation as an exceptional defensive player. He received the Quakers' Defensive Player of the Year Award as a junior and senior and appeared in 82 career contests, starting 22. Kosiba played scholastically at Tampa Catholic where he scored over 1,000 points over his career and earned All-Hillsborough County honors with the basketball team.
