After starting his career a a reserve linebacker and special teams player he was appointed the starting center job his junior year. He played in 36 career games and started 19 of his last 20. 2001: Helped Guilford's offense finish second in ODAC with  192.9 rushing yards-per-game... four different backs gained over 100 yards in a game for the Quakers this season... Guilford ran twice for over 300 yards... 1999: Started the year as a reserve linebacker, but missed four games due to a knee injury… returned for the final two games on the offensive line… made a career-high three tackles at Washington and Lee… 1998: Appeared in all 10 games, mostly on special teams… Personal: Bonner Scholarship recipient… serves as a residence advisor… works as an after-school counselor with the Guilford YMCA… two-time captain and All-Greenville County performer for Sam McCollum's Wade Hampton H.S. team… played defensive end and offensive guard in high school… named Best All-Around student as a senior… participated in short-term mission trips to Jamaica, Florida and Alabama… son of Dorothy and Drew Baird… political science major… business minor.
