Office of the Vice President
The Vice President of Community Senate is responsible for representing the student body in the absence of the President. The Vice President serves as the Chair of the Elections Committee and therefore oversees all Senate elections. The Vice President also serves as the Chair of the Judicial Committee which monitors judicial proceedings on campus and makes recommendations for modifying the Student Handbook. The Vice President is also responsible for making recommendations for changes to the Senate By-Laws. Some powers of the vice presidency include:
The authority to assume the powers of the presidency in the President’s absence.
The power to assume the presidency in the event of the President’s resignation or dismissal.
The power to recommend candidates for vacant Senate positions to the Executive Council.
