Guilford Shares

Guilford Shares is an opportunity for the faculty and staff of Guilford College to make financial contributions to charities and service providers in our community.  Community participants are: United Way, Earthshares, and Community Shares.  Guilford Shares is designed to increase the awareness of the need for giving and to make giving easier.

Guildford Shares established the realistic goals above based on the past performance of giving at Guilford College.  Last year Guildford increased its overall giving from $7,000 to $10,000.  This success leads to even more success.  This year Guilford faculty and staff will receive approximately $25 million in salaries.  Expecting $12,000 for necessary causes of one's choosing is not unrealistic.  We would be pleased to assist anyone in matching their gifts to desirable non-profit organizations.

Last year Guilford College faculty staff participated in giving at the rate of 13%.  Guildford Shares believes that this level of giving does not accurately reflect the care and concern of Guilford College employees.  By almost doubling the participation rate to 25%, while marginally increasing the dollar amount sends the message that participation is important.

While at the kick-off event you can make a donation to any of the non-profit organizations.  Information about how to choose an organization will be available.
