| Thirty Guilford College alumni who have established successful careers in the arts returned to campus on March 22 to share their experiences in the ³Alumni Art Exchange,² a series of panel discussions on topics ranging from careers in museums & galleries, art businesses, art education, graduate school opportunities, and ³surviving and thriving² as practicing artists. The Exchange was well attended by Guilford College alumni, students, faculty and staff, along with visitors from the community. | |
| The symposium concluded with the opening reception for the Alumni Art Exhibition, featuring nearly 100 works of art by forty-eight alumni. Bonnie Melton Œ77 was presented the Presidential Purchase Award for her painting, ³Gardening in the South.² The award was sponsored by President Rogers, and the Exxon Foundation, to honor an outstanding alumni artist in the exhibition by purchasing their work for the college¹s permanent collection.
