Test Prep Center
Exams can be intimidating, especially if you are unsure of what to expect. Receiving an overview of the test’s format, refreshing your memory on what you’ve already learned, and taking practice tests can prove to be invaluable. Through Guilford College’s Test Prep Center, specialized instructors and exposure to actual exams can help prepare students to approach their required examinations with confidence.
SAT Prep Course
Guilford College offers a preparation course that helps high school students improve their scores on the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). This workshop, taught by highly experienced teachers, enables students to become familiar with the test material through section-specific lessons, practice essay questions, and three full-length practice tests. Instructors offer personalized feedback for each student, including scores and skills reports. Students have reported significant increases in scores, including as much as 250 points, and recently a perfect score was achieved.

Guilford College offers a preparation course for students preparing to take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). Experienced and knowledgeable instructors guide students through more than 1,000 real LSAT questions, in addition to providing individual writing analyses and strategies for taking the exam.

Fees Tuition (includes materials) $499 GRE Prep Course
Guilford College offers a preparation course for the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). This is the test most commonly used by graduate schools to evaluate applicants for admission. The GRE Prep course helps students become familiar with either the GRE® General Test, which measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills, or the GRE® Subject Tests, which are intended to gauge undergraduate achievement in one of eight specific fields of study.

Guilford College offers a preparation course for the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which is the test used by most graduate business schools and MBA programs to evaluate applicants for admission. The GMAT Prep course helps students become familiar with the three main parts of the exam, including the Analytical Writing Assessment, the Quantitative section, and the Verbal section.

Katherine Lambert-Scronce, MA, PMC/PSL
Katherine has been an LSAT, GRE and GMAT Prep instructor at Guilford College since 2006. An instructor with 20 years of teaching experience, Katherine has taught in public schools, colleges, and universities. She also has 8 years of online teaching experience. Among Katherine’s accomplishments are establishing her own company, GSO Online Tutoring, winning the Outstanding Courageous Leadership Award (2011) at Western Carolina University, and being nominated for a Women in Business Award sponsored by the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce (2011). Katherine’s education includes a Post Masters Certificate in Public School Leadership from Western Carolina University, admission to Campbell University School of Law, completion of Summer Study at George Mason University School of Law, an MA degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a BA degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is NC Certified in Latin 9-12, Highly Qualified Status, English 9-12, Highly Qualified Status, and Special Education (BED) birth-Adult. Katherine has written three books, one of which is used in the GRE class. Words for the Wise is an informative book that is always mentioned favorably in the class evaluations.
