In the latest step of the presidential search process, Lucy Leske and Kate Haley of the Witt/Kieffer executive search firm visited campus Oct. 8, 10 and 11.

They were dedicated to learning more about the College and the presidential opportunity as they draft a leadership statement for promoting Guilford to candidates.

Lucy, a managing partner of Witt/Kieffer’s higher education team, met with the vice presidents, representatives of Admission and Friends Center and several trustees. She toured campus with student guides and met with President Kent Chabotar.

Kate, Guilford’s lead consultant, met with the Presidential Search Committee, Board of Trustees, Clerk’s Committee, and traditional and CCE students. She, too, toured campus with student guides.

According to Search Chair Carole Bruce, the leadership statement will be reviewed by the Search Committee and trustees by early November and made available to the campus community in a forum setting.

As part of its most recent meeting, the Search Committee received and reviewed statements about desired qualities of the next president from the Alumni Board and Black Alumni advisory group.
