Board of Trustees' Statement on the Presidential Search

Posted: April 8, 2014

Guilford College’s Board of Trustees completed the interview phase and entered the decision phase of the presidential search on Monday, April 7. On the recommendation of Search Committee including faculty, staff and students, trustees invited three highly qualified finalists to campus for interviews. The College is privileged to have these finalists—Jane Fernandes, Michele Perkins and Carolyn Stefanco—under consideration. Guilford is grateful to each of these highly experienced educators for their genuine interest in leading the College at this important point in time, and would be fortunate to have any one of them as its next president. Community feedback about each finalist is an important aspect of the process. Comments were solicited and a wide range of responses received from across the community. The Board embraces its critical responsibility to choose the next leader for the College based on its assessment of the College’s needs and the experience and skills of the candidates. The Board is confident that the next president of Guilford will be equal to the task, and looks forward to presenting the selection at the conclusion of the process.
