Following visits to campus by two search consultants in early October, the leadership statement promoting Guilford to prospective presidential candidates is being drafted.
The Witt/Kieffer executive search firm is drafting the leadership statement and job description with the input of College leaders and the campus community. The Board of Trustees and Search Committee are expected to consider the drafts in November. Trustees approve the final documents.
Lucy Leske, managing partner of Witt/Kieffer’s higher education team, met with President Kent Chabotar and the vice presidents, representatives of Admission and Friends Center and several trustees on her visit.
Kate Haley, Guilford’s lead consultant, met with the Presidential Search Committee, Board of Trustees, Clerk’s Committee, and traditional and CCE students when she was on campus.
As part of its most recent meeting in early October, the Search Committee received and reviewed statements about desired qualities of the next president from the Alumni Board and Black Alumni advisory group. Earlier, the committee received a faculty statement which is available along with the trustees’ charge to the committee in the Aug. 22 update on the presidential search page.
Nominations of presidential candidates should be forwarded to GuilfordPresident@wittkieffer.com.
President Chabotar announced in March that he would retire June 30, 2014, after 12 years on the job.
