Quaker Club

The Quaker Club was established by Hall of Fame coach and athletic director Dr. Herb Appenzeller in 1956 to promote, encourage and support Guilford College's 22 athletics teams. One of the Club's biggest accomplishments was the Super Sponsor Program, which in 1978 raised funds to build the Ragan-Brown Field House, Guilford's main gymnasium. The Quaker Club also supports Guilford Athletics by maintaining relationships with  former student-athletes and cultivating relationships with alumni, parents and friends of the college.

The Quaker Club provides opportunities for Guilford student-athletes to succeed in the classroom, in competition and in life. Gifts to the Quaker Club supplement the athletics budget by underwriting programs and other various needs such as travel support, new equipment, and facility upgrades that allow Guilford to attract the best student-athletes.  Through the generosity of our donors we help provide a first-class experience for Guilford's student-athletes, coaches, and fans.

Guilford is an NCAA Division III member that competes in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Quaker Club has recently had a membership base of over 300. While this membership number is great, we know we can be bigger and better. We are always looking for more boosters, so whether you are a Guilford alumnus or a friend of the program, please consider joining the Quaker Club.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Quaker Club and how you can make a difference in our student-athletes' lives. Quaker Club members share the common bond of commitment to Guilford athletics. To learn how to join this group of enthusiastic Quakers fans, please contact Eric Hart, major gift officer, at 336.316.2332.
