Guilford College Department of Geology and Earth Sciences
Frank Family
Science Center
|
The
new Frank Family Science Center building (completed summer 2000)
provides much more space for teaching, research, and student
activities. The rooms
represented above are all on the second floor.
The department also has three facilities on the lower level
of Frank - a Rock Storage area where we keep large and
less-frequently used samples; a Rock Preparation laboratory, where
we keep rock saws, lapidary equipment, hazardous materials, and
other rock and laboratory equipment; and a Research Laboratory where
we are hoping to house a new X-ray diffraction instrument for
mineralogy and crystallography studies. |
|
In our
student study and meeting area, Geology students and visitors can
relax, study, and try to win free cokes off Dave at foosball.
There's a big table to the left of this picture where people do
homework and meet with professors - honest!
