This degree is intended to
offer an introduction to geology, normally for students combining geology
with another interest such as environmental studies or education
studies. The major also fulfills the college requirement that all
disciplines offer an option for an eight-course major. Requirements
include completion of an introductory course sequence and a core of
upper-level courses in geology. Course work in the related field of
chemistry is also required. |

Requirements
Physical Geology,
Historical Geology, Mineralogy, Structural Geology and Paleontology.
The related field
requirements for this degree are one year of General Chemistry and one
additional approved elective laboratory science course in geology or in
other science departments.
The department will
sometimes allow substitutions of some courses in geology to accommodate
student interests or needs.
