Health Science
The health science major allows students the flexibility to organize into a cohesive course of study the interdisciplinary science courses required to pursue graduate study in one of the health or allied health professions. The courses come from a variety of areas of study, including the Natural sciences, Mathematics, Sports Studies and the Social Sciences. Students must complete a second disciplinary major in conjunction with their health sciences major, ranging anywhere from chemistry to English, depending on the student's interests and needs. The capstone internship and accompanying internship seminar, give the student an opportunity to gain the real world experience necessary for a career in any health care field.

"I want to go to medical school when I leave Guilford; that's what I look forward to doing. Being on a small campus, you can build nice relationships, you know a lot of people and you see them often. Working with people is important if you decide to become a doctor." --Travis Outly '04, health sciences and biology double major
