The Frank Family Science Center, with its 54,000 square feet, 21 laboratories, 28 spacious classrooms, comfortable student spaces and convenient faculty offices, opened in October 2000 and has quickly become a home away from home for many science students and faculty.
This building represents Guilford at its best. It is a space where the world of teaching and learning become one. The science faculty designed this building themselves, from the inside-out. They wanted to be close to their students and have space that encouraged collaboration and a sense of community. Their goals have been achieved in this state-of-the-art facility. "The Frank Family Science Center is my second home. The work that we do requires a lot of us to be there all the time, so we've become very, very close, and we spend a lot of time coming up with stuff, doing labs together, not just the students, but Steve and Rex. It's been the most supportive, innovative, exciting experience that I've ever had in my entire life, hands down."
