The Quaker Quadrangle, a sophisticated simulation lab in which students make their own decisions and discoveries while working on research teams, is one reason that Guilford's geology program stands out. The strength of our graduates is another: alumni have assumed high-level positions at some of the top geological and environmental companies in the nation. Seminars and classes give geology students opportunities to explore the geology of exotic locales, such as East Africa and the Caribbean.
"What I like most about Guilford is the students; they are intelligent, quirky and creative, and you rarely find people who have all three qualities. That's what so neat about Guilford undergraduates, you can assign them work, but they always have their own take on it, and their own ideas of where they want to take it and what they want to do."
