Writing – I need intensive work in this area.  I'm working hard on my writing in English 102, and I think that I am improving.

Research – I think that I am fairly good at this, because my middle school strongly stressed this skill.  But as with all of these skills and competencies, I am sure I will get better at this.

Quantitative skills – I'm actually unsure as to what this refers to.  Is it math? If so I'm pretty good at it.  I really like math.  I am definitely looking foreword to taking math classes here.  I'm going to take Calculus next year.

Oral skills – I think this is an extremely important skill.  I have some exposure to oral presentations, but hopefully my oral skills will improve a lot over the next 4 years, I have already noticed a slight improvement.

Information technology – I am pretty clueless in this field.  Hopefully I will not always be clueless.  Working on this portfolio has really helped expand my computer knowledge.

Creativity – I would like to cultivate and encourage my creativity.  I think that Guilford is a really great place to do this because they really encourage creativity here.

Organizational agility – I think this is crucial for everyone to have, and I certainly do not have it yet.

Composure – I hope that Guilford will help me to be more composed and self-confident.  I am a little lacking in self confidence but I think that is one of the things that Guilford is really good at encouraging.  

Initiative – I want to learn to take the initiative more often in my life.  I think this is really necessary in all aspects of life, from personal to professional. 

Bookkeeping skills – I think these are essential in order for someone to be independent. I'm not very proficient at this right now, I can't even balance my checkbook.
