| As you may have figured out, Im a pretty active and involved person. My two
professional goals are focused towards being a psychologist, or an automotive technician.
In my time at Guilford, Ive been involved as much as possible. When Im not
doing Senate stuff, giving tours for the admissions office, studying, etc, I have many
varied activities I enjoy participating in. I work out three times per week. I started
lifting weights my freshman year. I started lifting at the suggestion of one of my female
friends. After about a month of lifting, I was doing it for myself. I feel better, have
more energy, more self-confidence, and am less prone to stress when Im getting to
the gym on a regular basis. Another thing that I like to do is race and, occasionally
show, my car. I go to the tracks every couple weeks during the summer for drag racing.
Ive also tried auto cross racing, but prefer drag racing. Part of drag racing is
modifying, or "modding" my car. I have personally done a fair amount of work to
my car. I not sure if working on other peoples cars spawned my interest in making my
car faster, or if making my car faster encourages my interest to work on cars. Im
also a member of several racing clubs, where the other members have similar interests and
we all help each other out when one of our cars arent running well. Racing is a good
adrenaline rush, and when all goes well, is a rewarding experience.
If my racing sounded extreme to you, you may also get a kick out of the fact that I
skydive too. Last Spring, a bunch of my friends took a trip to Louisburg, NC to make our
first jump. Several of us are planning to go every year until we get certified to make
solo jumps. Jumping out of a perfectly good plane at 14,500 feet was one of the greatest
experiences of my life. I cant wait to go again.
These are probably some of the most interesting things about me. Like most college
students, I like sleeping in on the weekends (and sometimes during the week too), hanging
out with my friends and watching TV; my favorite show is The Simpsons, a
cartoon, despite the fact that Im 20 years old and the show has been on since I was
9. If you want to know anything else about me feel free to click on the "contact
