Sevilla Trevisani '06
Sevilla's first impression of Guilford was that the campus was beautiful and the people were friendlier than any other school she had visited. She chose to attend Guilford because she liked the idea of calling her professors by their first name and she wanted to go to a small school where she wouldn't be known as just a number. She also felt that leaving her hometown of Orlando, Fla., was important for her college experience.
As a student at Guilford, she enjoys the small class size and that her professors take the time to get to know her. Her advisor even treats her to lunch every so often. Sevilla also enjoys the social life at Guilford. She likes attending the sporting events on the weekend and she says that she never gets bored or feels like there is nothing to do on campus. The best thing that Sevilla has done outside of class while a student at Guilford was spending a summer in Poland and Amsterdam touring the Anne Frank house, Auschwitz concentration camp, and the place where Pope John Paul II grew up and studied to become a priest.
Sevilla's favorite class at Guilford has been Legal Aspects of Sports and Business Law, because "the class made me interested in law and helped guide my decision to go to law school." Sevilla is majoring in business management and sport management, and plans to go to law school after she graduates from Guilford and become a sports agent.
