Hannah immediately felt comfortable on her first visit to Guilford. During her visit, a theatre professor dropped everything he was doing to talk with her for a half-hour about the program, and she felt the students she met were very honest with her.

Hannah grew up in a small, intentional Quaker community in Ashland, Va. She knew about Guilford because it is well-known in Quaker circles. She chose to attend Guilford because she wanted to keep in touch with her Quaker roots and felt like she would be able to through QLSP (Quaker Leadership Scholars Program). She also felt good vibes from the Guilford community and was very impressed with the theatre department's ethos. She feels like there is a strong sense of community and commitment from the professors and the student body, and likes that Guilford makes it so easy to do community service.

Outside of class, Hannah is involved in theatre productions on campus and community service with Pathways Tutoring. "I think I learned more by doing these activities that I would from taking courses in acting or social problems and issues," she says.

A double major in theatre studies and education studies, Hannah is not real sure what she will do after graduation, but wants to get her master's in theatre, education, or psychology.
