Fall Housing Information
For New Students
Welcome to Guilford! Guilford College is a traditional residential campus that requires most students to live on campus and only a limited number of students are permitted to live off campus. If you paid your $400 enrollment deposit you will receive your Enrollment Packet from the college within a couple of weeks of depositing, which will include information about Banner Web, Class Registration and Housing. Once you have received this information, you may move forward with your online housing application.
To apply for on campus housing, you need to complete 2 parts. Step by Step Instructions are provided for you on the Residence Life Forms page. You MUST complete the "Access Housing" application portion properly in Banner Web before you go to the "My Housing" section in Banner Web to select your meal plan. If you do not receive a confirmation email that your housing application was submitted, then you will need to try again. If you have clicked on "Complete Application" and the page states you have submitted your application, then it has been done properly.
Students living in the traditional residence halls (not apartments or houses) are required to have a meal plan. First Year students have two options, the Quaker Max (19 meals per week) or the Quaker 14 (14 meals per week + $175 grill cash per semester). First year students must maintain one of these meal plans for the entire academic year. Transfer students with more than 23 credit hours have the additional choice of the Quaker 10 (10 meals per week + $175 grill cash per semester). Meal plans are selected in "My Housing" in Banner Web.
Additional applications are available on the Residence Life Forms page for the following:
- Single Room Application (for ADA accommodations only)
- Off-Campus Application (required if a student is considering living off campus)
- Meal Exemption Request Form
Housing assignments will be made over the course of the summer. You may be able to view your assignment on the Overview Page in "My Housing" starting in July; however, Residence Life reserves the right to make changes as needed, so the assignment you may see online may not be your final assignment. You will also be mailed a packet in mid-July providing you with your housing assignment, arrival dates and other important arrival information. First year students may not check-in to their room before the scheduled August 13th arrival date.
For Transfer and Readmitted Students
Housing is currently at a premium for sophomores, juniors and seniors at Guilford for fall. You may apply for housing; however, you will be placed on a housing waiting list. If we are able to house you, you would be notified no later than August 1st if a space becomes available for you. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee you housing. If you already have planned living off campus, please complete the Off Campus Application and fax it to 336-316-2949 or send it in to the Residence Life Office, 202 Founders, as soon as you can.
