Quantitative Literacy exams will be held at 1 p.m. on the following dates:
- Saturday, January 26
- Sunday, February 24
- Saturday, April 6
- Saturday, May 4
- Saturday, June 15
All exams will be in King Hall room 222.

Guilford does not have a required mathematics course for students. Instead, there is a Quantitative Literacy requirement. There are five ways to satisfy the Quantitative Literacy requirement:
- Scoring 650 or higher on the Math SAT;
- Pass the Quantitative Literacy Test taken during orientation;
- Satisfactorily complete GST 110 Quantitative Literacy;
- Satisfactorily complete any course offered by the Guilford College Mathematics Department; or,
- Receive transfer credit for a course comparable with a Guilford College Mathematics course.
Students who do not pass the Quantitative Literacy Test may retake the exam at a later date during the semester to satisfy the requirement.
Students should satisfy the requirement or complete GST 110 Quantitative Literacy or MATH 110 Math for the Liberal Arts before attempting a higher level course in the Mathematics Department.
For students who have satisfied the Quantitative Literacy requirement and are interested in taking mathematics courses in the first semester, Guilford offers several mathematics courses that are appropriate for first-year students. These include MATH 110 Math for the Liberal Arts, MATH 112 Elementary Statistics, MATH 115 Elementary Functions, MATH 121 Calculus I, MATH 122 Calculus II, and MATH 123 Accelerated Calculus. The Mathematics Department has scheduled sections of MATH 115, 121, and 123 simultaneously so that students may change courses to take a more appropriate level of mathematics without disrupting other courses in their schedules.
