Guilford Wins Fundraising Award
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) presented Guilford with an Overall Improvement Award in the 2013 Educational Fundraising Award Program.
Guilford was among five private liberal arts institutions nationally with endowments under $100 million receiving the overall improvement citation. The award was based on an analysis of three years of fundraising data the College supplied to the Council for Aid to Education’s Voluntary Support of Education survey.
The College has raised nearly $60 million through the Advancing Excellence campaign since 2005.
“It’s a great honor for the College to be cited by CASE for fundraising improvement,” said Mike Poston, vice president for advancement. “I commend our donors, President Chabotar, volunteer leaders and staff for their support and their exceptional work in supporting students’ pursuit of a Guilford education.”
The other institutions receiving overall improvement awards in Guilford’s category were Hampshire College (Mass.), Kentucky Wesleyan College, Lyon College (Ark.) and Oglethorpe University (Ga.).
Thirty-three colleges and universities in all categories nationally received overall improvement citations, including N.C. State University and UNC School of the Arts.
