Book Tops Publisher’s Sales Chart

George Guo’s “China’s Security State: Philosophy, Evolution, and Politics” is the top seller from Cambridge University Press in the category of East Asian government, politics and policy.

The book by the associate professor of political science is reviewed in the January/February issue of the journal Foreign Affairs. The book examines the creation and growth of China’s security and intelligence agencies, including their influence on the Chinese Communist Party.

“There is no question that China is the biggest security state in the world,” George told Time magazine for an Oct. 22 cover story.
