Women’s Basketball Wins ODAC Title
Brittany Atwater ’13 hit a running shot with 6.9 seconds remaining to give the women’s basketball team a 61-59 win Feb. 24 over Eastern Mennonite and its second consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship.
Morgan King ’14 led all scorers in the ODAC final with 20 points and collected a game-high 14 rebounds. Atwater had 13 points. The two were named All-Tournament and Second Team All-ODAC.
Gabby Oglesby ’14, a First Team All-Conference selection, was named tournament MVP after averaging 14 points in three tournament games.
The Quakers defeated Virginia Wesleyan 75-61 in the ODAC semifinals Feb. 23 and Randolph-Macon 76-48 in the quarterfinals Feb. 21.
Last season Guilford finished 22-7 and lost at Centre (Ky.) in the NCAA first round, 59-47.
