Lee Woodruff to Discuss Novel

Author and CBS This Morning contributor Lee Woodruff will give a talk, answer questions and read from her debut novel, “Those We Love Most,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Dana Auditorium.

The event, free and open to the public, also will include a book signing.

“Those We Love Most” is told through the perspectives of two generations within a family and chronicles how an unimaginable sudden twist of fate forces each family member to confront their choices, examine their mistakes and fight for their most valuable relationships.

Woodruff garnered critical acclaim for the No. 1 New York Times bestseller “In an Instant” (2007), co-authored with her husband, Bob, which is the compelling and humorous chronicle of her family’s journey to recovery following his roadside bomb injury in Iraq.  She is the author of the essay collection, “Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress” (2009).

Woodruff has written numerous articles about her family and parenting in magazines such as Health, Parade, Redbook and Ladies Home Journal. As a contributing editor and spokesperson for Family Fun, she has written about health and travel and participated in national and regional broadcasts to discuss various topics on its behalf.

In addition to freelance writing, Woodruff ran her own public relations and marketing consulting business for 16 years.  Before that, she was senior vice president of the public relations firm Porter Novelli. She is a graduate of Colgate University.

She and her husband established the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families.
