President Chabotar Interviewed on Higher Education Finance
President Kent Chabotar was interviewed for a Jan. 15 article about institutional management and finance on the website Inside Higher Ed.
The American Association of University Professors has called for more faculty input when institutions are considering whether to close academic programs.
Administrators can reduce suspicion among faculty by maintaining financial transparency in good times as well as bad, Kent said. The use of standard student-to-faculty ratios or student-to-administrator ratios also can help reduce the mystery in decision making, he said.
