President Chabotar Is Among Triad’s Most Influential
President Kent Chabotar has been named one of the Triad’s Most Influential People by the Business Journal of the Greater Triad for the fifth straight year.
Kent joined 109 other business and community leaders chosen by the weekly newspaper’s publisher, editors and reporters as individuals making a difference in the region.
“Adding up the time, energy and money [our Most Influential honorees] have invested would be a Herculean feat, but we don’t really need to do that to appreciate how their experience, wisdom and perspectives have positioned this region for the future,” said Doug Copeland, president and publisher of the Business Journal.
Kent has been president and professor of political science at Guilford since 2002. He was cited by the Business Journal for managing a new strategic long-range plan for Guilford and leading the College to within $10 million of its $60 million Advancing Excellence campaign goal.
Several others with Guilford ties have been named to the list:
- Trustee Carole Bruce, a partner with Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP, is on the advisory board of Elon University’s law school.
- Vic Flow ’52, president and owner of Flow Lexus, is one of three founding members of Americans for Free International Trade, a national political action group.
- Attorney, former state legislator and longtime philanthropist Jim Morgan ’66, managing partner of Morgan Herring Morgan Green & Rosenblutt, has chaired more than 75 regional, statewide and national organizations.
