Beauty Meets Function
Students are delighted about upgrades to Founders Hall and eager to share their enthusiasm in a video highlighting the major changes.
The renovation of Founders created an open, attractive and welcoming student center that promotes the sense of community that is central to the Guilford experience.
Founders now includes an atrium lobby and student organization center on the first floor that includes offices and production space for our award-winning student newspaper, The Guilfordian. There is expanded student art display space and re-positioned Campus Life offices and our nationally ranked student radio station, WQFS, on the second floor. On the lower level, the Grill was enlarged and an aquarium was installed.
The project is entirely funded with gifts, including a $2 million gift from the McMichael Family Foundation and a $900,000 real estate gift from Ed and Vivien Bauman.
