Guilford Featured in Washington Monthly, Princeton Review Guides

Guilford College has been ranked 29th among liberal arts colleges by Washington Monthly and named one of the “Best 377 Colleges” by The Princeton Review, which listed WQFS as one of the top college radio stations in the county.

Billing itself as offering a “different kind of college ranking,” Washington Monthly rated schools based on their contribution to the public good through social mobility, research and service. The social mobility category rewarded institutions for recruiting and graduating low-income students.

The Princeton Review included Guilford in its “Best 377 Colleges, 2013 Edition,” a listing based on a survey of 122,000 students. The College has been profiled in the company’s annual guide for each of the 21 years it has been published.

The Princeton Review also included the College in two of its 62 “top 20” lists, similarly based on student surveys.  Guilford was rated 11th on the “best college radio” list, which has included WQFS for nine of the past 10 years, and 16th on the “reefer madness” list.

In other ratings news, the College was ranked 387th among 650 institutions and ninth among 19 North Carolina schools by Forbes, and was ranked 167th among national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report.

As previously announced, Guilford is profiled in the new edition of “Colleges That Change Lives: 40 Schools That Will Change the Way You Think About Colleges.”
