Opening Academic Convocation Aug. 22
The Opening Academic Convocation for the 176th academic year will be held at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, in Dana Auditorium. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.
The program is as follows:
Moment of Silence – Max Carter, campus ministry coordinator and director of Friends Center
Welcome – Aaron Fetrow, vice president and dean of students
Recognition of the Class of ’16 and Honor Programs Students and Introduction of Speakers – Adrienne Israel, vice president and academic dean
Welcome Address – Kyle Dell and Maria Rosales, associate professors of political science
Introduction of Student Leadership: Community Senate President Tim Leisman ’13 and Student Government Association President Yvette Bailey ’13 – Aaron Fetrow
Closing Remarks – Max Carter
Singing of the Alma Mater – Led by Kate Hood ’76, assistant to the vice president for advancement, and Deborah Shaw ’84, director of the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program and assistant director of the Friends Center
