Noah Ratner ’13 Receives Top Division III Golfer Award
Noah Ratner ’13 was recognized as the top golfer in the NCAA Division III, receiving the 2012 Jack Nicklaus Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America June 3. He’s the first Guilford golfer to earn the honor.
Nicklaus—a former NCAA champion and one of the PGA Tour’s all-time greats—recognized recipients from the three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and junior colleges during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Noah, of Asheville, N.C., recently concluded one of the finest seasons in Guilford’s storied golf history. He earned PING First Team All-America recognition for the second straight season and spent most of the year atop the Golfstat.com Division III Head-to-Head Player Standings, edging national medalist Anthony Maccaglia of Oglethorpe in the final ratings.
Noah tied a Guilford record with four medalist honors and recorded a 72.73 season stroke average, the second-best figure in team history.
