Summer School Registration Open for Second Session

Spend part of your summer at Guilford College!

It’s not too late to register for the second 5-week session of summer school. Registration ends Thursday, June 21. Classes begin Monday, June 18, and end Thursday, July 19.

Register in person by visiting the Center for Continuing Education in Hendricks Hall, located off New Garden Road at the northwest entrance to campus. For more information, call 336-316-2179.

Second session offers such classes as:

Two-dimensional Design (ART 102)
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency (JPS 205)
Diversity at Work (JPS 323)
Music Appreciation (MUS 111)
Culture & Sexuality in Africa (SOAN 234)
African Culture in Films (SOAN 358)
Health and Wellness Promotion (SPST 211)

The Music Appreciation class is being taught by Diane Phoenix-Neal, a faculty member of the Eastern Music Festival. It meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-10 p.m. and includes attendance at several EMF concerts.

The first half of each class will include an introduction to the evening’s concert. The class will attend the concert and discuss it afterwards. The class is also unique in that it can be taken as a regular college 4-credit class or as a non-credit program.
