Guilford at 175
Many of the founding principles exist today in forms that the early Quakers wouldn’t have to ponder hard to recognize. The allegiance to Quaker principles of ethical living is alive and well, manifested in the College’s core values and the Center for Principled Problem Solving, which is dedicated to making sure the core values of Guilford are integrated into the College’s pedagogy. Collaborative governance of the College has allowed faculty, trustees and administrators to create two strategic long-range plans during President Kent Chabotar’s tenure that serve as blueprints for Guilford’s development.
